UV-A protection
Description of UV-A protection: ingredients that provide UV-A protection, protect the skin from UV-A radiation. Sunlight is a primary source of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which causes suntan, but also sunburn and skin cancer. On the other hand, UV-radiation is important in the formation of vitamin D. Different subtypes of UV-radiation can be distinguished: UV-A and UV-B. UV-A is associated with skin aging and has a longer wavelength. Chemicals with UV-A protective properties are used in formulations in various Personal care products. This is especially so in skin care products, such as anti-aging facial care products.

Benzophenone 4 is used in many cosmetic applications to protect against sunburn, in anti-aging facial care products, and in hair products. It can also be used as an emollient and an ingredient to prevent cosmetic products deterioration from sun exposure. Benzophenone 4 can be formulated into after-sun, self-tanning, color cosmetics, lip care, nail polish and body care products. It can also provide excellent protection for bleached and colored hair against UV radiation and can be used in hair gels, shampoo, mousse, hair sprays and hair primers. A secondary UV-B absorber with activity in short UVA (UVA-2) range rays, Benzophenone 4 provides supplemental UV protection and boosts SPF activity.

A white viscous suspension, UV-Absorb M is an outstanding filter for a large UVA/UVB range. It's highly efficient due to its ultra-fine form and is not only absorbing UV, but also scatters and reflects light. Easy to use and good compatibility with other oil-soluble sunscreen ingredients. UV-Absorb M has a shelf life of 24 months and should be stored in a dark and cool place.
