UV Filter
Description of UV Filter: UV Filters are ingredients or chemicals that are used to block or absorb UV light. As it is known that sunlight can severely harm the skin, the main application of UV Filters can be found in sunscreen, to protect the skin from UV-related damage. Different kinds of UV light can be filtered by UV filters: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. This depends on the wavelength of the UV light. In addition to being present in sunscreen, UV filters can also be found in other personal care products, such as shampoo, body wash, lipstick and insect repellent. UV radiation can be filtered by absorption, reflection or scatteration.

Used in many cosmetic applications to provide skin protection against sunburn, Benzophenone 4 is commonly used in anti-aging facial care products, sunscreens and hair products. It can also be used as an emollient and an ingredient to prevent cosmetic products deterioration from sun exposure. Benzophenone 4 can be formulated into after-sun, self-tanning, color cosmetics, lip care, nail polish and body care products. It can also provide excellent protection for bleached and colored hair against UV radiation and can be used in hair gels, shampoo, mousse, hair sprays and hair primers. A secondary UV-B absorber with activity in short UVA (UVA-2) range rays, Benzophenone 4 provides supplemental UV protection and boosts SPF activity.

A white viscous suspension, UV-Absorb M is an outstanding filter for a large UVA/UVB range. It's highly efficient due to its ultra-fine form and is not only absorbing UV, but also scatters and reflects light. Easy to use and good compatibility with other oil-soluble sunscreen ingredients. UV-Absorb M has a shelf life of 24 months and should be stored in a dark and cool place.
