Chelating Agent

Chelating agent Ingredients

Description of Chelating agent: metal ions are crucial to many important processes in living organisms. Many microorganisms also rely on metal ions to survive and grow. This is of course highly undesirable in formulations. To remedy this problem, one can kill the organisms by using preservatives. Another solution is to remove the metal ions from the formulation. This effectively inhibits microbe growth, prevents rancidity, and increases shelf life. Chelating agents are molecules that form highly stable bonds with metal ions, making them unusable by microorganisms. Glutamate TDA30 is an excellent, natural, amino-acid based chelating agent that is widely usable and very effective.

Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
Item #: 2227
Based on Monosodium L-Glutamate (MSG), Glutamate TDA30 is a safe, readily biodegradable chelating and rinsing agent. It is made from vegetable materials in a biochemical process. It has an excellent solubility and is highly effective over a wide pH range. Glutamate TDA30 is also not sensitizing to human skin. All of these properties make Glutamate TDA30 a more effective and safer choice compared to phosphonates or phosphate based chelating and rinsing agents. The INCI name of this product is Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate and it's also known as a preservative booster.
